Learning Goal: Students will understand the legal means of becoming a citizen and the obligations and responsibilities of citizenship.
Task 1: Naturalization Practice Test
If you were born in the Unites States, then you may take your citizenship for granted. By now you should know the steps that immigrants must take to become U.S. Citizens.

Task 2: Citizen Me
We'll be going through the attached powerpoints (to the right) in class and filling in a graphic organizer on Page 4 of your notebook. (directions found within the powerpoint, but your graphic organizer will look like a pyramid)

Task 3: The Evolution of Citizenship
Read the attached document "The Evolution of Citizenship" (below) to figure out how. Answer the questions from the file titled "Citizenship Questions " on the back of your notebook Page 4.
Task 4: Immigration Webquest
We've already learned about the Naturalization Process (how immigrants become citizens) in class. Many of you have asked me questions about WHY immigrants come to America in the first place and about current issues and debates regarding immigration.
